The Silkie is most likely to have originated from China. They come in both bantam and large fowl size. Silkies are covered in a soft, fine fluff and have 5 toes (rather than the usual 4). They have dark blue skin and bones and unusual blue earlobes. They lay small, white/cream eggs, approximately 100 per year. Silkies are known for going broody and make excellent mothers. They are very docile, friendly birds and are great for children.

We breed white silkies.
